Technology by Dummies: Digital Antennae!

Author's note: I'm not a tech wiz. Don't expect any real info in this, I'm just writing for entertainment.

I told you I'd talk about something other than a dead mall!

Do you guys remember when you could just watch TV on an antenna? Free TV? Well, shockingly, you still can!

Of course, things are a bit different now, being that we're in the digital realm. So, how do you get a digital signal?

Simply enough, you use a digital antenna. You can buy them at your local Radioshack (if you still have a Radioshack, otherwise Walmart carries them, too!)

So now, you hook up your digital antenna to TV with a digital tuner. If your tv doesn't have one (pre-2007) then you'll have to buy a tuner.

Now, I hooked up my antenna to a portable digital TV. I switched the smaller antenna it came with for the big one seen on my dresser...which somehow got less channels, but crashed less (the downside of digital is you either get the channel or don't: static is no longer an option).

Tah dah! Documentaries on honey badgers, absolutely FREE!* (*after you buy all the equipment). Look at it! Crystal clear HD! And since I could just keep the portable antenna on this thing, I can have free TV ALL THE TIME! (Take that, streaming services!)

So, what place does this technology have in today's internet age? You tell me!
