Crimson Tide's Loss Spells Doom for the Summit Mall (sort of)

Alternate title: We're all doomed, and of course it's 'bama's fault.


Okay, this post is a bit convoluted, but let me just explain.

I was rooting for Alabama to win the Championship, simply because of the Red Hooded Manatee.

Now, if you've been paying attention at all to this blog (which nobody has), you'd remember this little post where I mentioned one of the Summit Mall dreams I had. Y'know, the one with the stuffed manatee wearing an Alabama Crimson Tide hoodie.

Well, guess who lost? Alabama.

Of course, the news about the mall says otherwise. There's a hearing on the brewpub coming up (in which I suspect some people will complain that the brewing is too loud and the hops get in their eyes of something).

So, does Crimson Tide's loss really have anything to do with the Summit Mall? I sure if you ask my friend Ron (the first person ever inducted into this site's Hall of Fame) he'd say "Alabama's mascot is an elephant, not a manatee," missing the entire concept of a DREAM, but being about as logical as anything else in this mess of a post.

So, I'm still hoping that the Summit Mall opens up sometime in my lifetime. Fingers crossed.

Hey y'all, So...October 1st has come and gone, and there's not Summit Park Mall (contrary to what my now WRONG countdown calendar says). To rub it in, the Buffalo News published an article with the hopeful title "Sports domes at Summit in Wheatfield to be erected next year" . The article basically just states what I already knew: nothing's gonna happen this year. ...Well, that's not  entirely  true: Cynthia Potts, who I've emailed before (because I'm nosy) says that they might get some work done for the winter. Chock Full o' Update

Hey folks, So, first off: Twitter! I have one! Follow it! https://twitter.com/radiokorei Next: Summit Mall news! Well, mall news in general. So it seems the Boulevard Mall is up for sale, which is crazy. Weirdly, WKBW focused their live air story (but not their written piece, ugh) on the Summit. So the unofficial construction date is Spring 2017, which is exactly a year behind schedule. I guess any date is better than no date, but geez. Also, Cocov made a new site for his projects! Take a look at Cocov Destinations . It mentions the Summit Sportsplex project, so it's still happening! Cheers! -Red Hooded Manatee
